BROER. BRIDGES. PONTES.
Engaging a cross-cultural collaborations through dance, KOMA seeks to connect young artists
KOMA invites you into BROER, an artistic initiative that builds cultural bridges by connecting young dancers and diverse communities through collaborative performances.
The project showcases 4 differents works, in partnership with an international cast:
'Men In Coats'
A work choreographed by Tim Rushton to music by Philip Glass. Originally created in 2010 for Danish Dance Theatre, in this production, a new cast works directly with the internationally recognized choreographer.
'HU.GA'
Choreographed by Alex Soares, HU.GA is inspired by the Danish concept of hygge—a sense of comfort and intimacy, and celebrates a cultural encounter between Danish and Brazilian dancers. The work brings together artists from KOMA Ballet and Cia Jovem de Dança de Jundiaí.
'Young Woman With Her Eyes Closed'
Created by Alex Soares, the duet takes its name from a late 19th-century sculpture by Camille Claudel. The choreography emphasizes emotional presence and sensitivity and was nominated for best choreography at the APCA Awards in 2024.
'Between The Body and The Blue'
Choreographed by Henrique Rodovalho, this work explores questions of physical and spatial limits - where the body begins, how movement evolves and how expression emerges through form and sound. It has been presented internationally and now features a Brazlian/Danish cast.
It’s about dance as dialogue, bringing cultural diversity together in unforgettable experiences.

ANDERSEN FOREVER
Odense markerer 150-året for H.C.
OBS! Billetter frigives på H.C.

NUTCRACKER | the nuts talent show
The Nutcracker production by KOMA Ballet, in partnership with Odense Symfoniorkester and international artists, takes place within the professional performing arts landscape that values youth development and in this context embodies the power of collaborations.
The production goes beyond contemporary dance; it is a cultural exchange initiative that believes that the exchange between artists who experience cultural diversity and plurality can add to the way we approach and make art. Selected prominent artists from Latin America come to join the Youth Danish Ensemble during the Christmas season, contributing their unique artistic perspectives and enriching the performance with a fusion of styles and experiences. This collaboration allows for a vibrant and dynamic reinterpretation of Tchaikovsky composition, blending classical traditions with contemporary influences from across cultures.
The project’s choreography is crafted by a highly respected choreographer who brings not only technical excellence but also innovative artistic vision to the production. The fusion of classical music with contemporary dance ensures the production stays relevant while maintaining the integrity of The Nutcracker's classical roots. This collaboration allows for a rich dialogue between tradition and innovation, offering both the dancers and the audience a unique interpretation of the beloved classic.
2025 SEASON | December 19th and 20th
