VIDEO AUDITION GUIDELINES | DANSE GRUNDUDDANNELSE (DGU)
For candidates unable to attend our in-person auditions, we offer a video audition option that captures the essential elements of our selection process. Through this format, you can showcase your technique and creativity from wherever you are. Please read the instructions carefully to ensure your video meets our requirements
1. Classical Ballet Technique (Duration: 2-3 minutes)
Begin your video with a demonstration of your classical ballet technique.
This segment should include a combination of barre and center work that highlights your foundational skills in ballet.
You may structure it as follows:
– Barre work: Include pliés, tendus, and one other movement of your choice.
– Center work: Show a brief adagio, pirouette and a small jumps combination.
– Traveling steps: Finish with a short sequence of across-the-floor movements that highlight your elevation and flow.
2. Improvised Phrase (Duration: 1-2 minutes)
For the second part of your video, prepare an improvised phrase that reflects your personality and artistic style. You can also submit a choreographic phrase, where you dance a part of a choreography you have already performed. Select music that resonates with you and use this opportunity to showcase your ability and to show us what you consider to be a strong point of your performance.
3. Submission Details
Once your video is complete, please ensure it meets the following:
– Format: MP4 or MOV format, attached to the video platform Youtube or Vimeo.
– Lighting and Sound: Make sure you’re clearly visible, and that the music and your movements can be easily heard and seen.
– Duration: The total video should not exceed 5 minutes.
Complete the registration form and in the last box please write: selection via video . Then send your video link, along with your full name, no later then January 24th to: post@amok-dgu.dk
If selected, we will reach out for further steps.
Some candidates will also go through an interview via Zoom and then we have the later we will release the final result.
